Explore the building blocks of triads with Stack It! 

Each worksheet features six whole notes. On top of each note, students build snowman triads by stacking! After, the teacher or student can play each snowman triad, and enjoy listening to their creations! 

These worksheets enable students to explore the main building blocks of triads: the STACK! This worksheet collection is for students who are not yet identifying triads in the traditional, theoretical sense (i.e. major, minor, augmented, or diminished).

Stacking is a fundamentally human method of organizing, building, and creating. At 10 to 12 months, babies learn to stack objects on top of each other. Triads are just that - a three note STACK! 

Students can enjoy creating music by building each snowman stack and listening to how each sounds. These worksheets are perfect for all students, and can be introduced far in advance of regular triad theory worksheets. Teachers may find introducing triad quality or type simpler once students have already spent time exploring the structure and experiencing the sound of triads from these worksheets!
